Adult Day Programs - Island Health

Assists seniors and adults with disabilities to continue to live in their own homes by providing supportive group programs and health services that assist with daily activities of living.
Adult Day Services help improve the health and quality of life for seniors and people with disabilities. A variety of services are available to do this, although they may vary between communities. Island Health will make every effort to meet the care needs of each individual with the local resources available.

Adult Day Program services may include:
  • Healthy meals
  • Health monitoring
  • Social interaction
  • Bathing programs (available at some sites)
  • Recreational Activities such as singing, gardening, and crafts
  • Therapeutic Activities such as cognitive games and chair exercise
  • Also supports other community agencies that provide outreach and volunteer services.
How to Access:
  • The individual must be a client of Island Health Community Health Services to access the Adult Day Programs.
  • Primary Care Provider referral is required (providers see below) OR the client can call the Community Access Line for more information. Please see location telephone numbers and hours below.
